St. Peter’s Memorial Garden is a tranquil Japanese garden nestled behind the church. The garden enrichs the lives of Parish members and that of the Japanese Canadian community. This beautiful garden is carefully cared for by our church.
In the middle of the garden is a small pond with a stream, and a gazebo where one can reflect, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, while listening to the trickling sound of the water. Encompassing the garden is a columbarium, with its walls containing over four hundred niches, each niche capable of holding up to four individual urns. As a symbol of our reconciliation, and our continuing Christian outreach to the Japanese Canadian community, interment of ashes in the columbarium is open to everyone.
To obtain more information or reserve a niche for you and your loved ones, please mail or contact Basil Izumi (604-447-0171) for inquiries.
